We are seeking a talented and motivated UX & UI design student to join our start-up incubator for their 23-week internship. 

To give a short introduction, we are the start-up incubator associated with the Stockholm School of Economics. Each year we enroll around 30 companies and foster an environment where they’ll be able to grow, scale, and internationalize.

At Business Lab, you can look forward to interacting with - and growing alongside - our many interesting start-ups. You will be able to apply and develop your skills on interesting projects, working with other enthusiastic and brilliant people who are building their companies. 

Instead of working with only one company, you'll learn a lot working with many different teams and helping them with everything from UX, UI, branding, creating crisp pitch decks, and many other areas. You’re guaranteed to learn a lot and our entrepreneurs would love to learn from you as well!

About SSE Business Lab

We are a start-up incubator in Stockholm working under the Stockholm School Of Economics. With support from experienced business executives, serial entrepreneurs, many professional corporate partners, and our amazing team, we aid start-ups and future unicorns in accelerating their journey at the pre-seed stage. Since our inception in 2001, SSE Business Lab has supported over 250 companies – among them well-known successes like Klarna, Budbee, and Voi Technology.

The start-ups you will be working with are in our Incubate program which is the program for our more mature start-ups with bits of traction.

Here’s a small overview of the types of companies you’ll work with: Fintech, environmental edtech, nutritional supplements, vegan condoms & intimate wellness, interior design software, and various SaaS companies with interesting ideas.

Our office is currently located in A House Ark, a vibrant co-working space in Östermalm. We’d love to have you as much in the office.

Overall goal of the internship

The overall goal of this internship is that you as an intern will be exposed to the inner workings of various companies and help our start-ups obtain great branding, gain an understanding of their customers and customer journey, and an array of other things. Each company has its own needs, so you’ll have a great variety of tasks. This is a great opportunity to build your portfolio.

Unfortunately, the internship is unpaid since we are a non-profit organization.

Internship overview

The internship will take place over the course of 23 weeks during which you’ll get to work with all of our Incubate program teams on UX, branding, etc. among other things. You’ll be jumping between a vast variety of companies all with their own unique teams and needs. It’ll be a learning experience like no other!

Who are we looking for

• Expert in creating responsive UX & UI designs, with an understanding of modern platform design standards & frameworks (grid systems, spacing etc).
• Collaborate with mobile and web developers to deliver intuitive UI experiences.
• Simplify complex user journeys, making it easier for users to find what they're looking for.
• Ensure designs are on-brand, bringing our start-ups brand to life.
• Expertise in Figma, Photoshop, and other design programs.
• Any other talent that you can bring that would be interesting. For example, motion design.
