Stockholm Environment Institute is a world-leading research institute in its field. We are a dynamic and expanding workplace that employs around 130 people in an activity-based HQ office in central Stockholm. We have an additional 200 employees in seven centres around the world.
Project overview and tasks
In SEI’s Project Communications and Impact division, we take pride in our friendly, collaborative work environment with colleagues from all over the world. In this internship, you will work with different teams to enhance the visibility and influence of their research. Your primarily focus will be on topics like water, sanitation, health and oceans, offering support to teams keen to amplify their communication strategies.
Your creativity will help to transform ideas into reality as you contribute to both content creation and the development of communications strategies. Tasks include producing impactful stories in a variety of formats: crafting engaging feature articles and social media posts; producing and editing captivating videos; and creating eye-catching infographics, explainers and templates. You will also provide creative input on visuals and social media strategy.
Profile
The internship aligns perfectly with individuals studying communication at university level or similar. You must be comfortable writing in English, as it is the primary working language at SEI, while knowledge of Swedish is considered an asset but not required.
Experience in multi-format storytelling, writing, photography, film production and visual creation is highly beneficial. The range of tasks can be customized slightly to align with your unique skills and interests.
Formal qualifications and knowledge
- current enrolment in a university programme or similar
- fluency in English
Location
The internship is located at SEI-HQ in Stockholm. An in-person internship involving office visits 1-2 times per week is preferred but an online internship may also be discussed.
